Secure telehealth

Real counseling from wherever you are in Ohio or Kentucky, on a secure platform built for it.

Telehealth Hope Counseling was built around online sessions from the start. Video counseling removes the commute, the waiting room, and the excuse. You meet from your home, your office, or a parked car, and the work is the same as it would be in person.

Sessions run on Carepatron, a HIPAA-compliant video platform, and Brett is certified through the Telebehavioral Health Institute. He is licensed in both Ohio and Kentucky, so residents of either state can be seen.

Who this is for

  • You live outside Cincinnati, or travel often
  • Your schedule makes getting to an office hard
  • You would rather talk from a space that is already yours
  • You have health or mobility reasons to stay home
  • You want the same counselor even if you move within Ohio or Kentucky
How we help

How it works

Before your first session you receive a link. At the appointment time you open it on a phone, tablet, or computer, and Brett joins. The session runs fifty minutes, just as an in-person session would, and follows the same structured CBT approach.

You need three things: a private place where you can speak freely, a steady internet connection, and headphones if others are nearby. Brett will help you troubleshoot the first time, and the technology quickly fades into the background.

Video counseling is well supported by research for anxiety, depression, and relationship work. Couples can join from the same room or separately. If you ever want to switch to in-person sessions, the Clifton Avenue office is available.

What to expect

Three steps, and the first one is free

  1. 01

    Free 10-minute call

A phone conversation to see whether counseling fits and to answer any questions about how video sessions work.

  2. 02

    Secure intake and setup

Complete the consent and intake form on the secure client platform, then receive your Carepatron link.

  3. 03

    Sessions from anywhere

Fifty-minute video sessions at times that fit your week. Same counselor, same plan, no commute.

How long it takes

Length of care is the same as in-person counseling: it depends on what you are working on, and you set the pace together. Fees are identical for video and office sessions.

This is a good fit if

  • You live anywhere in Ohio or Kentucky
  • You want counseling that fits around a real schedule
  • You are comfortable with a phone or laptop video call
  • You have a private space for fifty minutes
Questions

Before the first call

Anything not answered here is a good question for the free call. All FAQs →

Is video counseling private?

Yes. Carepatron is HIPAA-compliant and encrypted. Your side of the privacy is a room where you will not be overheard.

Does insurance cover telehealth?

In-network plans, including UnitedHealthcare, Optum, Anthem, and CareSource, generally cover video sessions the same as office visits. Brett will confirm for your plan.

What if I live in another state?

Brett is licensed in Ohio and Kentucky, so you need to be physically located in one of those states during sessions.

Can I switch between video and in person?

Yes. Many clients mix the two depending on the week.
